TWO Coventry City stars helped deliver some festive cheer at a homeless support charity.

Fan favourite and top scorer Duckens Nazon got the ball rolling last week when he asked his Twitter followers if they could point him in the direction of a homeless charity in the city, so that the Haitian international could donate supplies.

Sky Blues fans were quick to suggest the Coventry Cyrenians and Nazon, along with fellow City forward Maxime Biamou, visited the Cyrenians and supplied them with Christmas essentials for the local homeless and vulnerably housed.

The duo donated toiletries, scarves, gloves and hats - which will be given as gifts to attendees at the Cyrenians Christmas dinner event.

In addition to the supply of a three course meal to anyone who is homeless, lonely or vulnerable gift packages are supplied to supported accommodation units across Coventry and Warwickshire.

Praising the efforts of the Sky Blues duo, Jack Swinburn, fundraising and partnerships manager at Coventry Cyrenians, said “We were delighted when Duckens agreed to visit our office and show his support with donations towards our Christmas Appeal.

“We have up to 200 attendees at our Christmas Dinner Event, and his donations will go a long way to ensuring everyone receives important gifts such as winter clothing and toiletries.

“It was great to meet both Duckens and Maxime, who managed to successfully reach us despite the snow. We wish them and the rest of the Coventry City team the best for the rest of the season.”

Anyone who wishes to join Duckens and Maxime, and donate to the Christmas Appeal can drop in to the Cyrenians office in Oakwood House, or make an online donation through JustGiving.
