PET DOG ATTACKED BY PACK OF BULL TERRIERS

POLICE AFTER LABRADOR APPEAL WAS SO BADLY INJURED IT HAD TO BE PUT DOWN

- By CLAIRE HARRISON

A PET dog was mauled so badly by a pack of bull terriers in Nuneaton that it sadly had to be put to sleep.

Police say that the chocolate Labrador, which was being walked by a man, suffered severe injuries in the attack in Vernons lane that it had to be put down by vets.

It is believed that the pet dog was attacked by five to six other dogs, believed to be Staffordshire Bull Terriers, who were being walked by a woman and two men in their early 20s.

The nasty attack happened Vernons Lane, near to Stanley Road, at just before 8.10pm on Thursday and officers want to speak to anyone who saw the two suspects and their pack of dogs.

PC David Ruddy of Warwickshire Police said: “Thankfully nobody was injured during the incident, but the chocolate Labrador suffered severe injuries and sadly had to be put down.

“We are keen to speak to the two men and woman walking the group of dogs, who were last seen leaving the area in the direction of Camphill”

“I ask anyone with information to call police on 101, quoting incident number 442 of December 14.”

Information can also be passed on to police by calling the Crimestoppers hotline, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111 or online at https://crimestoppersuk.org/
