100 new homes plan in city

- By LAURA HARTLEY News Reporter news@trinitymirror.com

MORE than 100 affordable homes are to be built in Coventry.

The development will comprise of two and three bedroom homes at the new Hawkesbury Place in Coventry.

Westleigh Homes are behind the development and say the first plots released for sale won’t remain on the market for very long.

Lisa Morris, new homes manager for Westleigh, said: “We are very excited to be opening up further opportunities for homebuyers in a wide range of circumstances to step on or up the property ladder in Coventry.

“The first plots released for sale at Hawkesbury Place are not expected to remain on the market for very long, so I would urge property-seekers to register their interest as soon as possible.”

In total, 107 homes will be built, 27 of which will be for sale with Westleigh homes.

Eighty of the homes will be available through a shared ownership scheme, affordable rent or market rent by Orbit.

The homes are situated close to the south band of the canal, and are already generating interest with would-be buyers - before the showhome has even opened.

Work has already begun on the houses near Longford.

Although people are able to start buying them in the spring, the Hawkesbury Place development is due to be completed by the end of 2019.

People can register their interest in the development by visiting the website at www.westleigh.co.uk/hawkesburyplace.
