COVENTRY City Academy graduate Callum Maycock has signed a new two-and-a-half year extension with the club.

The 19-year-old central midfielder has made 12 senior appearances so far for the Sky Blues, including four starts in the FA Cup and Checkatrade Trophy.

He has made four substitute appearances in the league, including one League Two showing so far this term in the 1-1 draw at Stevenage last month.

Maycock broke into the side last season following his impressive progress with the under-18s.

He joined the Sky Blues back in May 2014 as an apprentice and has risen through the IT’S been another disappointing loan spell for Sky Blues striker Kwame Thomas as he sits bottom of the National League with Solihull Moors.

After spending a month on loan at Sutton United at the start of September, where he appeared just three times, only completing 90 minutes once, he returned to the Ricoh.

But after just one senior start in the Checkatrade Trophy in a 2-1 victory over West Bromwich’s U21s, he was shipped out to get game time in the National League once more.

The 22-year-old was sent along the M6 to local side Solihull Moors in mid-November and, despite scoring on his league debut for the Moors against Maidstone to help earn a point for his new club, the forward has failed to find the net again since.

In the five games in which he has so far featured for Mark Yeates’ side, the Moors have won one, drawn two and lost two.

This poor run of form has seen the National League side fail to lift from the foot of the table, and now find themselves eight points adrift of safety heading into the New Year.

A positive for Thomas, though, is that he has played the full 90 minutes in four of the five games of his loan stint, only being substituted in the 85th minute in a 1-0 defeat to Wrexham at the end of November.

With his loan due to expire on January 6, it remains to be seen what Sky Blues manager Mark Robins has planned for the former Derby County trainee, whose current contract runs until the summer of 2018.
