Solihull loan so helpful for me – Kwame

COVENTRY City striker Kwame Thomas is confident his on-loan experiences with Solihull Moors will help improve his game.

Thomas plays the final match of his initial loan spell with the National League side today when Moors head to Macclesfield Town.

The 22-year-old says a decision on whether he will remain with Moors or return to the Sky Blues will be made in the next few days.

He had had an earlier monthlong loan spell this term in the National League with Sutton United

“I’m really enjoying it at Moors,” he said. “From day one, the lads have been brilliant, the management as well and I’ve enjoyed every minute.

“Saturday will be my last game. I’m not sure what’s going to happen yet. We will see what happens in the next few days.

“There are lot of different factors that will have to be taken into consideration.”

Thomas had been the first signing made by Mark Yates and former Sky Blues No 2 Tim Flowers when they took over at Solihull from Richard Money in November and he has helped spark positive signs of a turnaround as an increasingly dangerous attacking spearhead.

Though Moors remain in the relegation zone in the National League, they have recorded back-to-back wins against Barrow and Maidenhead and moved within seven points of climbing out of the bottom four.

“They say the table never lies but I don’t think we should be where we are,” said Thomas. “With the quality we have and the way we have been playing I think come the end of the season the team won’t be in this position.

“We’ve been on a good run. We have had a few draws which could have been wins, we’ve lost games by the odd goal which we could have drawn and the games we’ve won could have been by more goals.”

Thomas has netted once in eight games but he admits he could have had plenty more. “For me personally I have had a few chances but the ball’s not quite going in,” he added. “The keeper has been pulling off wonder saves, ones I wouldn’t have expected him. That was the case against Maidenhead on Monday but the main thing was that we won the game.”
