Appeal for tragic dad hits target

- By CLAIRE HARRISON News Reporter news@trinitymirror.com

DEVASTATED daughters have been overwhelmed at the response to an appeal to help pay for the funeral of their muchmissed Nuneaton dad.

Within 24 hours they almost reached the target they set following the heartbreaking loss of their dad, John Csaplar from Stockingfored

While struggling to come to terms with the fact the 42-year-old sadly took his own life, Georgie and Cydnie have also had to arrange and try and find the money for his funeral. This is further compounded by the fact that they live 500 miles away in Scotland.

Georgie, who is 19 and her sister Cydnie, who is 21, set up a gofundme page online in a bid to raise some of the money – never imagining that they would ever reach their £1,050.

But incredibly, in just over 24 hours, the target was hit.

They have taken comfort from the response.

“It is breaking my heart a bit because if he knew how people have been so kind and knew how much he was loved, and we’d have been able to get him some help, we might have been able to stop it but unfortunately it happened so quickly,” said Georgie, who is one of five children.

“It was a really difficult situation because we know he was struggling with his mental health and he was under the mental health team but he was not in the right place to actually go along to the appointments. “It has been really hard for me and m y sister, w e have had help from our aunty, but there is no way that we could afford to pay for his funeral on our own.”

Donations have come from far and wide: “Family, friends and even people who didn’t know him, in fact there were four people who gave £100 each, which was absolutely amazing,” she said.

The appeal for Mr Csaplar, who was involved in the Piston Rings Youth Motorcycle Club as well as the Jugsters and he also DJ-ed locally, will remain open for another month and any extra funds will be donated to a cause which his daughters hope will help others.

“If there is any money left we will be donating it to a mental health charity, like MIND,” Georgie added.

Mr Csaplar’s funeral will be held on Monday, February 12 at the Heart of England Crematorium in Nuneaton and people are being invited along to the Kingswood Tavern pub afterwards.
