NURSERY SET TO OPEN ON CITY’S LARGEST INDUSTRIAL ESTATE

- By ELIS SANDFORD News Reporter elis.sandford@trinitymirror.com

A CHILDREN’S nursery is opening its doors at Coventry’s biggest industrial estate.

Parents who work at any of the many businesses located at the Bayton Road Industrial Estate in Exhall will be able to send their little ones to The Early Learning Camp nursery.

Located on Blackhorse Road, nursery bosses hope that it will become a vital service for those who work at the industrial estate, and for those living in the local community.

The nursery is open year round, and caters to youngsters from babies to eight-year-olds.

Helen Slater, owner of the nursery, revealed that the refurbishment and opening was just the first of several major phases.

She said: “We knew where we wanted the nursery to be and when the site became available, we jumped at the opportunity because we knew it was spot on.

“The Early Learning Camp is positioned on the doorstep of the region’s largest industrial estate, so that children can be dropped off conveniently and safely.

“We want to be the most engaging and caring early learning environment for all young children in Coventry, Bedworth and neighbouring areas. “But it is also important to us that we have a facility that can become something for the whole community to use as well. We have a great nursery that has been heavily invested in, to give children the very best start in life. “Our vision is centred around an American philosophy of family values, education, outdoor life, team building and this camp style approach is what makes us unique. “We believe a great start from an early age is vital for a great education and a successful adult life.”

Currently four staff members work at the nursery, though they have confirmed that they will look to hire more, should there be enough demand.

The next phase of development at the site will see a cafe and play barn built.

Helen said: “We want to become an integral part of the local community and as such the café will double up as a meeting place for parents who drop off or wait for their children.

“Also, the café can be used by the whole community as can the play barn. There will also be a small farm, outside treks, camp fire stories and we will promote nature, the environment and the part we play it in.”

An open day will be taking place on Saturday March 10 giving parents and the community the chance to take a look around and discuss the future plans for the site.

Running between 11am and 3pm, there will be a Teddy Bear’s Picnic taking place for all to enjoy.

Other activities on the open day will include a teddy bear treasure hunt, pony rides, picnic food, face painting, bouncy castle, small animal handling, flower potting and planting, arts and crafts, storytelling and also a raffle.

Any parents who sign up for places on the day of the event will also have the £50 registration fee waved.
