Warning after man approached pupil
A COVENTRY school has issued a warning to parents after reports of a man approaching a schoolboy this morning.
Hill Farm Primary School in Radford sent a text message to parents this morning following an incident which occurred before the start of school.
It is believed than an unidentified man approached an 11-yearold boy and attempted to lead him down an alleyway.
Fortunately, the boy was able to run off, and there was no physical contact between the two.
The message, distributed to parents from the school read: “Please be aware there was an incident outside Hill Farm School this morning, a child was approached by a stranger, police informed.”
West Midlands Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident and have asked anyone with information to come forward.
A police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating a report that a Year 6 pupil of Hill Farm Junior and Infant School, was approached by a stranger as he walked to school this morning (Thursday 1 March).
“At around 9am, a man offered to walk the 11-year-old boy through an alleyway, which is a short cut to the school. The boy was frightened and ran off. There was no physical contact between the boy and the man.
“Anyone with information about this incident is asked to all West Midlands Police on 101, giving reference log number 505 of 1 March.”
