Armed police chase Ferrari thieves to city

GANG GET AWAY WITH THREE SPORTS CARS AFTER RURAL BURGLARY

ARMED police joined a chase through Coventry and Warwickshi­re following the theft of three highvalue sports cars.

The cars – believed to include a Ferrari and a Jaguar – were stolen during a burglary in Morton Bagot, in rural south Warwickshi­re, on Tuesday night.

The suspects were pursed along the M40, A45 and also through Foleshill, Wood End and Henley Green by officers from both Warwickshi­re Police and West Midlands Police.

Two of the stolen cars were recovered in Coventry – one in Tipton Way, Henley Green, and another near to Allesley Old Road, in Chapelfiel­ds.

The third car was recovered in Studley.

A spokesman for Warwickshi­re Police said: “We received reports of a burglary near Morton Bagot around 5.20pm.

“Four people forced entry to a house and a number of items were stolen including thee cars. One was eventually recovered in Studley and two in Coventry. No arrests have been made.”

Eyewitness­es reported seeing armed police in Ellacombe Road, Henley Green, while others told the Telegraph that they saw police chasing the cars through Longford and Foleshill at speeds of 70mph.
