ANOTHER huge name has been announced for Coventry’s Biggest Weekend event.

Ex-Oasis lad Liam Gallagher is the latest addition to the line up.

He will be taking to the stage on Sunday, May 27, joining Snow Patrol, Billy Ocean, Paloma Faith and Jamie Cullum.

Radio 2 and 3 will be presenting a line up of performers from around the globe at Coventry’s War Memorial Park on the May bank holiday weekend.

The festival is being held over four days in four UK locations, with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Liam’s brother Noel on the bill.

Liam told Chris Evans he couldn’t wait to come to Coventry as he announced the news of his headline slot on Radio 2.

He told Evans: “I love Coventry, man, love it. I can’t wait to get there and turn it up.”

Liam’s brother Noel will be headlining Perth the day before his brother’s Coventry slot.

Gallagher told the radio host that he and his brother are “getting closer and closer to each other”.

Evans said: “This is what’s so intriguing about this, you see, you’re like two sperm whales eyeing each other up from miles apart.”

Liam said: “Yeah, that is it, mate. We’re getting closer and closer, we’re gonna collide, mate, one day and who knows what will happen!”

Tickets for Coventry on Sunday have already sold out but can still be bought for Monday.

Acts playing on Monday include The BBC Concert Orchestra, Eliza Carthy and the Wayward Band, GoGo Penguin and Nigel Kennedy.
