Victim named as police launch new plea for help

TWO men have been arrested as detectives continue to investigat­e the shooting of a man in Tile Hill on Sunday night.

The victim has been named as 28-year-old Daniel Shaw.

He was found with gunshot injuries to his chest at around 11.15pm on Sunday in Copland Place.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, he died at the scene.

A post mortem examinatio­n will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death.

Police immediatel­y launched a murder investigat­ion and during the early hours of yesterday morning arrested two men aged 22 and 47 on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Mallett, from the force’s Homicide Team, is continuing to appeal for informatio­n from the public.

He said: “We have made significan­t progress with our investigat­ion; although we’ve made these arrests, we still need people to come forward.

“I’d urge anyone who was in Torrington Avenue or Copland Place at around 11pm on Sunday evening who hasn’t already spoken to us, or anyone who’s heard or seen something suspicious that could be connected, to get in touch.

“Daniel’s family are devastated and we are keeping them fully updated with the latest developmen­ts.”
