Marion McMullen looks at some bizarre celebrity arrests as comedy actor TJ Miller is charged over a fake report of a bomb threat on a train

1 AMERICAN actor and comedian TJ Miller, left, was charged this week for intentiona­lly reporting a fake bomb threat while travelling on a train. The Silicon Valley and Deadpool actor was arrested by police in New York on Monday after allegedly calling police to say a woman passenger had “a bomb in her bag”. He has been released on bail. 2 BEVERLY Hills Cop and Fast Time At Ridgemont High comedy actor Judge Reinhold was charged with disorderly conduct after refusing to go through airport security screening at Dallas Love Field in Texas in 2016. He later pleaded no contest to the charge and apologised saying he was embarrasse­d by the incident. 3 TEXAS police found Matthew McConaughe­y naked and playing the bongos when they were called out in 1999. The Dallas Buyers Club and Magic Mike actor, right, was arrested for possession of drug parapherna­lia, but the charges were later dropped. He was fined $50 instead for disturbing the peace with his bongos. 4 OZZY OSBOURNE ended up being banned from San Antonio in Texas for 20 years when he was arrested in 1992 for relieving himself on a public monument dedicated to the defenders of the Alamo. 5 POP star Justin Bieber was charged with vandalism after egging a neighbour’s home. He paid $80,900 in restitutio­n to resolve the criminal misdemeano­ur in 2014 and attended an anger management course. It was said the egging caused $20,000 worth of damage. Justin later sold his property to Khloe Kardashian. 6 TRANSFORME­RS film star Shia LaBeouf was arrested in 2014 for yelling obscenitie­s at a Broadway performanc­e of Cabaret starring Alan Cumming. LaBeouf was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. He also made headlines earlier that year by attending the Berlin Film Festival wearing a bag over his head with the words “I Am Not Famous Anymore”. 7 HOLLYWOOD veteran Rip Torn ended up in court in 2010 for breaking into a bank after mistaking it for his home while intoxicate­d. The 79-year-old Men In Black star pleaded guilty and was given a suspended sentence, placed on probation and told he would be subject to random drug and alcohol testing. 8 OSCAR winner Reese Witherspoo­n played the fame card, saying “Do you know my name, sir?” when she was arrested and handcuffed for disorderly conduct by Atlanta Police in 2013 when husband Jim Toth was pulled over for driving under the influence. The Legally Blonde and Walk The Line star, right, was fined $213. She later said she had made an “unacceptab­le mistake”. 9 TERMINATOR 2 star Edward Furlong was arrested in 2004 when he and some pals attempted to “free” lobsters from a tank at a Kentucky grocery store. Police were called and said the lobster liberator seemed unsteady on his feet and smelled of booze. 10 FOUR Weddings And A Funeral actor Hugh Grant ended up having his mugshot taken in 1995 when he was arrested by police after being found in a car with a prostitute near Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. He pleaded no contest and was fined $1,180.
