THE Sky Blue Army have been handed an extra batch of tickets after selling out their initial 4,000 allocation for next week’s second leg play-off semi-final at Notts County’s Meadow Lane within hours of going on sale yesterday morning.

Coventry City have negotiated an extra 500 seats for the match that will be played on Friday, May 18, with a 7:45pm kick-off.

Details of when they will be available for sale will be confirmed once they are arrive at the club.

Tickets for the away leg went on sale at 9am yesterday with tickets sold out online and via the call centre just before 11am.

Tickets were held back for disabled supporters to purchase at the Butts Park Arena Ticket Office, with this number in proportion to the allocation and amount of disabled/ambulant disabled supporters which the club has.

Dave Boddy (right), chief executive at Coventry City, said: “To sell out our initial allocation of tickets for the game in one morning is testament to the superb supporters that Coventry City has.

“To see the excitement of fans who have got their tickets for the game has been fantastic.

“We could have sold many, many more than we were allocated and we appreciate some fans who wanted to go have not been able to and are pleased to secure an extra allocation of tickets.

“However, I am in no doubt that whether fans are following it at Meadow Lane, or via Sky Sports back in Coventry or around the world, they will be looking forward to the match.”

Supporters are reminded not to attempt to purchase tickets in the home end at Meadow Lane. The club said: “We have been informed by Notts County that any Coventry City supporters found to have purchased tickets for the home end at Meadow Lane will be ejected from the stadium.”
