Coventry Telegraph Business Awards’ ‘Family Business of the Year’ category will see the region’s very best family businesses come together at the ceremony on the 25 September in what is sure to be a hotly contested category. The winners of this award will need to display success throughout their industry while still maintainin­g those all-important family values that saw them begin in the first place.

The judges of this category will be looking to see what aspiration­s companies have for the future of their family business.

Accountanc­y and wealth management firm SFB Group have been providing their services to people in Coventry, Warwickshi­re and beyond for more than six decades, and will be acting as the category sponsor this year.

Paul Carvell is the Managing Director at the a ward - wi n n i n g firm, and he discussed why SFB Group decided to sponsor this particular category. He said: “SFB supports many familyowne­d businesses.

“Family businesses face several unique challenges and opportunit­ies which affect their day to day operation and potential future growth. We understand the wide-ranging issues and the challenges the business owners face and we are able to provide proactive, commercial advice.” Not only is the company sponsoring one of the 14 awards on offer at this year’s Coventry Telegraph Business Awards, but SFB Group also supports the regional business community as a whole. Paul discussed what else they do to contribute to the community, he said: “One of the things that SFB Group do to support the regional business community is that we are proud members of Coventry & Warwickshi­re First and Coventry & Warwickshi­re Chamber of Commerce. We run the successful Info2Grow events that provide valuable nuggets and informatio­n to local businesses, as well as offer event space and meeting room hire at our Nuneaton and Coventry offices. Our charity work also includes strong relationsh­ips with the Belgrade Theatre and Air Ambulance.”

Despite having firmly establishe­d themselves as leaders in their industry, SFB group still have ambitions to get even better and Paul explained what the company’s key focus will be over the coming year. He said: “SFB strive to ensure we stay at the forefront of excellent services and advice to clients.

“Over the coming year we will continue to expand our team of experts.

“Our aim is to become known as the local leading firm of business advisers.”

This year the Coventry Telegraph Business Awards will take place at the city’s Ricoh Arena where TV comedian, Mark Dolan, and presenter, Lucy Nicholls, will be on hosting duties.
