Lack of action on problems with bins

-

OVER the past year or more we in Walsgrave have experienced very poor bin collection.

We have sent emails, telephoned – all to receive automated answers which have not solved the problem.

The problem lies with councillors and the refuse department hierarchy, who seem to remain anonymous or are frightened to tackle the problem.

They must be accountable for their actions – or lack of them. We still pay our council tax but they are not doing their job. C Fleming Walsgrave

Not paying EU will boost our nation

THE cost of governing a country is very, very expensive. To pay for two duplicating governments, unless the gain is outstanding, must be stupid and affects the living standards of all citizens. Not paying for the cost of EU government is going to be a huge boost to the British nation. Hurry on Brexit. P Wilson Nuneaton

More info on airport needed

AS a long-time supporter of our airport who has found it difficult in recent years to get information about it, it was good to read an update. Laura Hartley’s article (Jun 22) looks positive, but it would be interesting to hear the views of the airport tenants association and the Chamber of Commerce Airport Consultative Committee. Last time I sent an email to enquiries@coventryairport (given on its website), I received an email from postmaster that it could not be accepted because of a full mailbox.

I then tried another email on the website, handling@coventryairport which went unanswered.

Who at the airport is responsible for publicity/public relations to deal with enquiries from the public generally or aviation enthusiasts? Barry Greener Green Lane

Grasscutters have done a lovely job

MAY I through your newspaper say a huge thank you to the grass cutter team who have done an amazing job in Gremlet Wood on the Sowe valley footpath. How they cleared that jungle, I do not know.

It is lovely to be able to see who is coming and I am sure people with pushchairs and on bicycles are grateful as well. Gill Gates Wyken
