Kemy crops up at Boro

NUNEATON Borough have snapped up Kemy Agustien, the seventh summer signing since boss Nicky Eaden’s arrival.

The 31-year-old Curaçao international midfielder said: “I’ve heard a lot about the club and the future plans.

“I know Owain Jones and Curtis Obeng from my time at Swansea City and I’ve heard a lot about what a good coach Nicky is, so I’m excited to join and looking forward to playing in the United Kingdom again.”

As well as stints with Birmingham City, Crystal Palace and Brighton, the 2013 League Cup winner had a long spell in Wales with the Swans.

“I enjoyed my time at Swansea immensely. The style of play that Brendan Rodgers wanted to implement really suited me. He wanted to play possession football which is the way we’re taught to play growing up in the Netherlands.

“I’m hoping to play my way back into the first team for Curaçao and help them qualify for the CONCACAF Nations League and Gold Cup.” COVENTRY City’s Under-23s have some impressive acts to follow as they plot their career paths.

The likes of Tom Bayliss, Jordan Shipley, George Thomas, James Maddison and Callum Wilson have progressed through the age groups with the Sky Blues in recent years, the latter trio going on to the Premier League, while Bayliss is also believed to be heading for the top.

Who could be the next diamond off the production line and how can you watch the Sky Blue hopefuls in action?

Here’s what you need to know about the U23s.

The 21-year-old Liverpool-born midfielder has signed a two-year contract with the club until June 2020, with the Sky Blues having the option of a one-year extension to the deal.

A versatile midfielder, Bosma has clearly been signed with a view for the future, although with seven goals from 37 appearances in the Isthmian League last season and Coventry’s record for blooding young players, don’t be surprised if he works his way into the first team picture sooner rather than later.

“We got promoted this year and he played a major part in it,” said his former Lewes manager Darren Freeman. “He does all the horrible things, he’ll work hard, track his men, get his shape well, he’s good in the tackle and he’s good in the air.

“He hits the box quite late but, potentially, every day training I think he’ll become a holding midfielder because he’s big and strong.

“But we played him a bit further forward, more as a No.10, because I thought Bouwe’s presence in the box would be an asset, which it was because he scored some really important goals, as well as setting some really important ones up for others.

“Coventry have got the lad Tom Bayliss that all the clubs are raving about and if you look at the mould he’s in I think they are looking to turn him into that sort of player.

“He has got a good range of passing like him, so he sort of fits that mould, if that makes sense.”

The box-to-box Brentford midfielder Zain Westbrooke a deal that could take him to 2021.

The 21-year-old took just three days to earn the contract with the Sky Blues after impressing in two training sessions and an Under-23s game before being offered a two year deal with an option for a third.

Similar in style to City’s own Academy graduate star Tom Bayliss, the technically gifted midfielder is a product of Chelsea’s Academy where he worked under the Premier League club’s former development coach Adi Viveash, who is now Mark Robins ’s assistant and first team coach.

“I was at Brentford and they said it was best that I looked elsewhere and I obviously knew Adi Viveash from my days at Chelsea,” said Westbrooke.

“He used to coach me when I was 12 years old and I got a call from him, saying that he’s assistant manager at Coventry and asked me to come down.”

He added: “I have got good energy and I’m able to get around the pitch.

“Most people would say my technical ability is the main thing to my game but I don’t shy away from anything.

“I think moving down the leagues, especially as a midfielder, you have got to have a bit of everything and what I have got to show now is that I’m not just a technical player and that I can do it all and help the team in all areas.”

The 18-year-old is highly-rated, quick and athletic and likened to current first teamer and fellow Academy graduate Jordan Willis.

He was out on loan at Barrow earlier in the season and was due to be on the bench to provide back-up on Tuesday night until he did his ankle in the 23s on Monday at QPR.

Made his first team debut in the Checkatrade Trophy group game against West Bromwich Albion Under23s, coming on as a substitute in the 2-1 win at the Ricoh Arena.

The 19 year-old has been rewarded for helping the under-18s win the Professional Development League South title. He has become a regular for the U23s this season.
