NUNEATON FESTIVAL HUGE SUCCESS

- By CLAIRE HARRISON Nuneaton Reporter claire.harrison@reachplc.com

NUNEATON’S first ever food and drink festival attracted an almost 50 per cent increase in people visiting the town.

Figures have shown that footfall in the town centre was 43 per cent up on Sunday compared to the previous Sunday - and that is down to the event. Shoppers flocked to Queens Road on Sunday to make the most of the 40 stalls which had set-up , offering everything from curries to cocktails.

Now even more could be planned according to jubilant councillor Julie Jackson, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council leader, who said: “Sunday’s event was amazing.

“The town centre was buzzing all day long and footfall was up 43 per cent on the previous Sunday. I am delighted that the event was such a huge success and so well received by residents and visitors.”

“I think the company’s passion and dynamism really came through on Sunday- the quality and range of the products on offer was absolutely outstanding,” she said.

“I know that the company is delighted with turnout and the CEO has already been in touch this morning to discuss the possibility of future events - apparently the feedback from traders and visitors was superb.

“After such a successful day we’re confident in the knowledge that Nuneaton is a perfect location for large scale events of this nature and there will be more to come.”

She went on that the firm who ran the festival, CJ’s Events Warwickshire Ltd, was so impressed that further events could be planned.
