A KEY date in the region’s business calendar, the Coventry Telegraph Business Awards 2018 are set to be held on 25 September.

Hosted at the city’s Ricoh Arena, the glamorous award ceremony brings together representatives from across the region’s business community for an evening of recognition and celebration.

14 awards will be presented at the ceremony, including the Sustainability Award which is sponsored by international industrial and metals group, Liberty Industries Group.

Specialising in engineering and metals manufacturing, along with metals recycling and commodities, this global firm operates in over 30 countries and has sites in Coventry and across the West Midlands.

Speaking of the firm’s decision to get involved with the awards, Liberty Industries Group’s CEO, Douglas Dawson said:

“The Coventry Telegraph Business Awards are an excellent way to raise the profile of Coventry and the surrounding areas. The standard of entries is always high and it is an honour to be able to help raise the profile and celebrate the outstanding commitment to business excellence so many of our region’s businesses demonstrate.”

As innovators in their field, Liberty Industries Group were keen to sponsor the Sustainability Award, as Douglas outlines:

“Creating sustainability is right at the heart of Liberty’s strategy to give British industry a competitive future, and our Coventry automotive operations are at the forefront of that mission. As such we are proud to sponsor the Sustainability Award and celebrate the achievements of other businesses in the city which share our commitment to building for the long term.”

“Therefore, sponsoring the Sustainability Award and helping to support those trailblazing businesses that continually strive for excellence and innovative solutions was an easy decision.”

Along with presenting the award to the successful business on the night, Liberty Industries Group will also act as the category judge, reviewing each entry and identifying the stand-out organisation which is worthy of taking home the award.

“With Coventry full of dynamic businesses making huge advancements in their fields” continued Douglas, “we are sure to once again see a great deal of exceptional entries and we wish all the nominated businesses the very best of luck.”

With operations across the West Midlands, including pressing solutions based on Burnsall Road in Coventry, the firm is keen to help raise the region’s profile, as Douglas points out:

“Awards such as these help to share to a wider audience what we already know, that Coventry is a vibrant and forward-thinking place to do business.”

He continued, “Helping to promote the diverse range of businesses within the region, the awards not only help highlight Coventry as a great place to operate from but also help to boost morale within the many businesses nominated.”

Nominations have now been distributed to the judges and the nominated business will be assessed and just three businesses within each category will be shortlisted. Winners will be announced at the black-tie award ceremony which will be hosted by Mark Dolan and Lucy Nicholls.
