JOIN THE WETLAND RANGERS AND LEARN VALUABLE SKILLS

-

FAMILIES can join Dusty’s Wildlife Rangers by taking part in exciting new Ranger Camps at Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) Wetland Centres this summer.

They can learn ranger skills, with everything from fire building, foraging, tracking wild animals, map reading, willow weaving and den building.

Other highlights include pond exploring; canoe safaris; mini raft building, bug hunts and bird challenges – learn how to identify birds and make feeders, and more.

WWT wildlife ranger Scott Petrek says: “I love being a wildlife ranger for WWT and helping to care for and protect our amazing wetland wildlife.

“We thought families would welcome the chance to experience what it’s like to be a ranger through special camps and fun-packed mini adventures, which include activities that I do as part of my day-to-day job.

“Hopefully, we’ll also inspire some of our younger visitors to become the wildlife rangers of the future, helping to create a world where healthy wetland nature thrives and enriches lives.”

Children can record their findings and experiences in free log books and special wildlife ranger stickers will also be available to collect.

Activities vary between centres. For more info go to wwt. org.uk/wildliferangers.
