‘I’m ecstatic about my results... I’m thankful to all the staff’

GRACE Academy Coventry is celebratin­g, with a rise in the number of students achieving the top grades including 63% achieving grades 4-9 in English and 60% achieving grades 4-9 in Maths.

Among the individual subject highlights were 87.1% of students achieving grades 4-9 in Biology, 83.9% achieving grades 4-9 in Physics and 77.4% achieving grades 4-9 in Chemistry.

After a sustained programme of improvemen­ts, the number of students who achieved the higher GCSE grades 7 to 9 rose to 36%, with an outstandin­g 30% achieving the highest possible attainment grade 9 across a range of subjects.

The Academy saw some outstandin­g individual achievemen­ts, including student Mohammed Khartabil who achieved 8 grade 9s and said: “Ecstatic about my results. Thankful to all the staff and revision sessions which really helped.”

The Westwood Academy staff and governors were delighted to announce an excellent set of results under the new 9-1 grading system and would like to congratula­te the students on their achievemen­ts. Headteache­r Jane Benton said: “Our hardworkin­g students have absolutely risen to the challenge of the new qualificat­ion system and have shone in all areas of the curriculum but in particular maths, science and languages.”

Caludon Castle students were delighted with their results this morning, and long queues formed for the sixth form enrolment, following the best ever A level results for the school. Those students who opted to follow the apprentice­ship route were also successful.

Improving on last year’s above average results, over two thirds of our students gained passes (4+/C+) in both English and Maths. In addition, there was an increase in the strong passes (5+) in English and maths. English maintained excellent outcomes with 83% of students achieving at least a pass grade once again this year. Notable successes were seen in Geography and Languages.

After topping the city’s A level results table last week, Bablake School announced record-breaking GCSE results, with 50% of all grades at 9, 8 or A* and 39% of pupils gaining the highly elusive 9 grade in English Language.

Tim Henderson from Hinckley and Sathvika Krishnan from Nuneaton achieved a full house of the very top grades in their ten GCSEs. Fiona Chung from Coventry also secured a remarkable twelve 9/8/A* grades.

King Henry has seen another year of excellent GCSE results.

37 per cent of all GCSEs taken were awarded the top grades of a 9, 8 or an A*, representi­ng the best performanc­e at this highest level that the school has achieved.

Almost two thirds of all GCSEs taken, 63%, were awarded 9, 8, 7 or A*/A. and nearly a quarter of the students in Year 11 achieved at least 10 GCSE grades of A*/A or 9, 8, 7 grades. An incredible 13 students gained at least 9 grades that were either 9, 8 or A*.
