- By LAURA HARTLEY News Reporter laura.hartley@reachplc.com

COVENTRY city centre’s annual student shopping night event is back for the sixth year this year, and it will have a very theatrical theme.

The event will return this year with the theme of the Greatest Showman, and has been dubbed ‘The Greatest Student Night.’

Now in its sixth year, Coventry’s increasingly popular student shopping night is one of the biggest retail events of the year.

The free to attend night will get underway at 6pm on Wednesday, October 3, with everyone keeping their doors open until 10pm.

A whole host of freebies, prizes, and exclusive discounts will be on offer in the city including at the Lower Precinct and West Orchard shopping centres, who have teamed up with Coventry Business Improvement District (BID) to host the evening.

There will also be DJ’s, live entertainment and a whole lot more taking place to make it the best event in its six year history.

Trish Willetts, Director of Coventry BID, is making sure that this year is bigger and better than last year.

She said: “The student shopping night is proving to be a huge day in our calendar and we would love to see as many students as possible come along.

“Not only do students make some amazing savings, they also get the chance to enjoy the entertainment and get to know all of the businesses available within the city centre. This year we want it to be bigger than ever, and we’ve settled on the perfect theme of The Greatest Showman to get everyone excited about it.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to get some incredible discounts and for our city centre to show off its great collection of businesses.”

Both national names and independent BID businesses will be supporting the event and getting into the spirit of the evening.

To gain access to the event, students just need to register online and have a form of student ID when they collect their free wristband.
