Coventry College welcomes future students
COVENTRY youngsters can begin their journey to the career of their dreams at a college open event this week.
Coventry College will be exhibiting a wide variety of its courses at the event today, being held simultaneously at the college’s city centre and Henley campuses between 5pm and 7.30pm.
The event comes just over a year after the merger between Coventry College and Henley College, with different courses being offered from each site.
Specialist courses, including construction, performing arts and photography, are available at the Swanswell Street city campus, while childcare, sport, computing and childcare are available at the Henley Campus on Henley Road.
Learners looking to take on engineering, business, public services and media courses can join Coventry College at either site.
There will also be a dedicated apprenticeship zone during the event, highlighting a strong commitment to getting learners into paid working experience.
Assistance principal for business growth, Gemma Knott, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming young people who want to learn a skill that could shape the rest of their careers and lives. We have incredible facilities, excellent tutors and strong business links to ensure our learners are ready to go into work. Whether you want to learn more about photography, forge a career in performing arts, or take on an apprenticeship, we will have people on hand at our open event to show you how to take those crucial first steps. Our open events are a great opportunity for learners and parents to see our amazing facilities, chat to staff and students about particular courses and learn more about college life in general.”
There will also be parent talks and live music on the evening, while model classrooms will be available to view in order to gauge an authentic experience of a day in the life of a student. For more information visit coventrycollege.ac.uk or call 02476 932 932.
