Smash on ring road

A WOMAN was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a collision on Coventry ring road.

The crash between a van and a Mercedes car happened just past the Canal Basin bridge on Ringway St Nicholas, held up traffic for half an hour from around 8.30am yesterday morning.

Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene roughly 15 minutes after the collision.

They remained on scene while recovery services removed the cars and lorry from the main road.

The cars were cleared from the clockwise section of the road first, but the lorry and an amount of debris remained in place until around 10am.
