Crazy golf cocktail bar all set to swing into action

18-HOLE COURSE TO OPEN IN FORMER CLUB M IN THREE WEEKS

THE opening date for Coventry’s newest attraction has been set - and it’s sooner than you might think.

Teezers, a brand new crazy golf and cocktails venue in the city centre will be opening its doors to keen golfers before Christmas, with November 30 announced as the opening date.

And it has been revealed that a staggering 3,500 pre-registered on the Teezers website and they will be given the opportunity to book their place at the Croft Road venue.

Bosses at the new venture, located in the former Club M nightclub building, have revealed that the ambitious 18hole course is nearing completion.

Rob Hall, the marketing manager at Teezers, said: “We looked up and down the country at similar golf venues to see what they offered. We looked at Ghetto Golf in Birmingham and the new course in Leicester.

“Our venue is very retro themed. Think late 80s and 90s.

“Every hole offers something different.

“We’ve been working 24/7 to get it ready, and I’d say we’re about 90% completed, which is well ahead of schedule.

“Our opening date is at the perfect time, with Christmas parties and big groups coming.”

Many of the holes at the course are being kept a secret for now but it has been confirmed that a number of pop culture references will be making an appearance.

One hole is themed around the set of legendary sitcom Friends, while another will be heavily inspired by 1993 hit film Cool Runnings. Another will be centred on the game show Bullseye, with the set being reconstructed, complete with an appearance from Bully. It is expected that the first few weeks will be exceptionally busy, and while customers are advised to book in advance there will be space for some walk-ins. However, the owners have stressed that it is an 18-plus venue, with ID required upon entry. Rob said: “We’ve been heavily involved with the city centre BID. “The city has been dampened in recent times, so we’re trying to put a bit of fun back into city centre nightlife.” With the golf undeniably a highlight, the cocktails that are set to be on offer certainly come a close second. Rob said: “We actually finalised the drinks menu today. “You won’t get your serious cocktails like you might find in Samoan Joes, ours will be fun and filled with retro sweets, served in red cups.” The food on offer will come from street food specialists Hangry Moose.
