MICHAEL Lanagan recently wrote to complain that the Brexit referendum was invalid due to a relatively small sum that was not fully accounted for and declared.

The leave campaign is also under investigation. How about the £9.3 million spent by David Cameron in posting propaganda to every home stating that a leave vote would have dire consequences? Would it not instead have been more fair to spend a similar sum on putting out the advantages of departing the EU?

If the EU had been willing to adopt some of the pre-referendum proposals asked for by David Cameron then Brexit would have lost. If you really want the true story of how dire the EU mismanages huge sums of money, read a book entitled Brussels Laid Bare by a former EU chief accountant Marta Andreasen MEP. She was employed to sort out proper accounts that the EU had not had signed off for many years and were suspected to hide massive fraud and waste and incompetence. She found she was stopped from doing her job at every turn from a legion of officials.
