MATTY has a terrible start to the New Year, after Victoria convinces him to join her and Ellis for the New Year’s Eve party.
He bumps into an ex, Isaac, who starts verbally attacking him, then follows him out onto Main Street with his thuggish pals and attacks him, ripping open his shirt.
Humiliated and distraught, the poor lad manages to make his escape.
Elsewhere, in the Woolpack, Charity’s stressed as she plans Ryan’s surprise birthday party.

SHE’S getting married in the morning! Although Mel isn’t exactly the typical blushing bride to be, given that the whole thing is a sham to get revenge on bad guy Ray. Thinking he might be getting suspicious, she recruits Shirley to keep the groom away, while she goes to meet Ray’s other wives Maddie and Nicola to finalise their plan.
But back at home, as her emotions get the better of her, she has an explosive rant – which son Hunter overhears…

PETER gets his own back on Dev and Kirk for their ghostly gag, setting them up for a serious spooking in the snooker hall with some help from Carla. After they flee, Carla warns Peter that the place is a money pit and challenges him to a game – saying that if she wins, he has to pull out of the sale.
With the chemistry and feelings flying between the pair of them, could the New Year see a rekindling of their romance?
