Teenager seriously injured in another stabbing

A TEENAGER has been seriously injured after another stabbing in Coventry.

Emergency services were called to Princess Street in Foleshill shortly after 7pm on Thursday evening.

Ambulance crews received calls to report of an assault at 7.15pm.

When they arrived, a teen was seriously injured.

Police have confirmed he received multiple stab wounds and have launched an investigat­ion into the attack.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Police were called to Station Street East, Coventry to reports of a teenager being stabbed at around 7pm last night (3 January).

“A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital to be treated for multiple stab wounds, which are not believed to be life threatenin­g.

“Investigat­ions are on-going to establish the circumstan­ces around this attack.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 7.10pm to reports of an assault.

“One ambulance attended and treated a man who suffered serious injuries.

“He was taken to hospital.”

A video was widely viewed on social media of the stabbing however it later appeared to have been removed from Facebook pages to which it had been shared.
