BRIGHT MOVE BY SKY BLUES

ON BALANCE, LOAN SIGNING IS PERFECT

-

MARK Robins appears to have brought in the balance he’s been looking for on the left side of his Coventry City attack.

The Sky Blues boss has drafted in the mobile Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Bright Enobakhare on loan until the end of the season, subject to EFL and Premier League approval.

A product of Wolves’ Academy, the 20-year-old is a versatile forward who is expected to compete for a place on the left flank to balance the threat from Luke Thomas on the right, although he’s a striker by trade.

Described as a technically gifted player who can play anywhere in the attacking line, Enobakhere made his debut for Wanderers at the age of 17.

He will have been known to City’s Head of Recruitment, Chris Badlan, who had a spell at Molineux as Head of Emerging Talent before joining Norwich City as Head of European Scouting.

Here Wolves writer ALEX DICKEN of BirminghamLive gives the lowdown on the player who has made 48 appearances for Wanderers, scoring three goals, and spent the first half of this season on loan at Scottish Premier club Kilmarnock, albeit limited to just two starts and four substitute appearances.

Best position

“He’s predominantly a striker but he has played on the left of a front three for Wolves under boss Nuno Espitiro Santo.”

Strengths

“He’s quite quick and skilful and he gets himself into some excellent positions. He can be quite unpredictable once he gets into those positions, though!”

Standout quality

“His movement is actually very good.

“Enobakhare is equally effective playing on the shoulder or dropping deep to collect the ball in order to run at defences. His touch and link up play is relatively good, too.”

Size/stature

“Enobakhare is by no means a target man but he’s physically strong enough to compete with burly League One centre-backs.”

Where he needs to improve

“The biggest criticism of him from Wolves fans was that he was wasteful in front of goal.

“As I’ve already mentioned, his movement can be excellent but once he gets into a good positions his finishing often lets him down.

“Most Wolves fans will remember his missed chances in the 0-0 draw with Manchester City in the Carabao Cup last season which Nuno’s side eventually lost on penalties.

“He should be more than able to score goals at League One level, though.”
