Vegan sausage rolls sold out in Cov and Warks
GREGGS vegan sausage rolls are the most controversial baked good debated by the nation - and in their second week on sale, all stocks in Coventry and Warwickshire are gone.
Meat-avoiders who longed for the Greggs experience had their wishes answered last week by the bakery chain, who pushed forward the launch of their Quorn-filled rolls to match up with Veganuary.
But those looking to get their meat-free pastry fix in Coventry and Warwickshire will be left disappointed this week.
The vegan sausage rolls have proved so popular that every branch of Greggs in our area has completely sold out of them.
The manager of Earlsdon’s Greggs told the Telegraph that their last delivery was on Saturday and by Sunday morning they were all gone.
The next tranche of vegan sausage rolls could arrive in Coventry on Friday.
A Greggs spokesperson said: “We’ve had an overwhelming response from customers wanting to try our new vegan sausage roll and as a result there have been some shortages across the UK.
“We’re working hard behind the scenes to get more product to shops that have run out as soon as we can.”
Meanwhile, over at FarGo village the Green Unicorn Store is selling a Made in Coventry vegan roll if you just can’t wait to get your fix.
