Bin collections need managing better

-

YOUR recent article highlighted the problems experienced with blue bin collections since Christmas.

As I write, Sunday, 13th January, we have still not received a visit from the refuse collectors, despite having registered a complaint on the Coventry city website on 10th January, the response to which being that they would call within 24 hours...

The on-going situation means our last collection took place on Thursday, 20th December, now approaching some four weeks ago, despite having been scheduled for Friday, 4th January.

Strangely enough the problem seems to have been confined to one small area of Ernsford Grange namely, the lower part of Bowden Way and adjacent Hothorpe Close.

Exactly what have the residents in these properties done to upset the Council?

This really is not good enough and needs managing better this year.

In the meantime, we shall be amazed if our bins are emptied before our next regular collection day, Thursday, 17th January. and Gibraltar and our longstanding presence in Germany, they are in Bahrain; Nigeria; Somalia; the Baltic States; Kenya and more.

This changing life puts pressure on families, with spouses and children sometimes remaining in the UK.

Marcus and I admire the dedication constantly displayed by the personnel of the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force and their relatives.

Our country is fortunate to have them.

Cllr David Skinner (Conservative) Westwood Ward
