BEST OF THE REST

-

COLD FEET ITV, 9pm

“I WANT to be happy,” says Adam (James Nesbitt) as this episode starts.

After hearing a few rather harsh home truths from his son Matt, he’s decided to go to therapy. But they are all just concerned with Adam’s father being bisexual. “Maybe that’s the most interesting thing about you?” says Karen (Hermione Norris).

Watch out for some amusing scenes when Adam finds himself at Drama Therapy, with fellow patients playing out scenes as his gang of friends.

Jenny (Fay Ripley) has got her breast check appointment but she’s not told anyone.

After a shaky start, this episode puts the series firmly back on track.

MASTERCHEF USA W, 7pm

THERE’S a different vibe in the air for the American version of this show.

Everything is noisier, less inhibited, higher energy and less, well, British.

Chef Gordon Ramsay plays his part well as the shouty, demanding judge looking for America’s next MasterChef. He’s flanked by two tough cookies, chef Aaron Sanchez and restaurateur Joe Bastianich. Each have eight bright white aprons they can bestow on the amateur home cooks who they deem worthy of a spot inside the MC kitchen.

The trio will then mentor their eight, hoping to make them the next champion – and winner of a quarter of a million dollars. And to think, in Britain, they just win a trophy.
