Man found dead at school ‘was much loved by all’

A SECONDARY school site manager whose body was found where he worked has been described as “much loved by all”.

Clive Moore’s body was discovered by a colleague at Avon Valley School, in Rugby, on the morning of January 29.

An inquest in to his death was held on Thursday, February 14, at Warwickshi­re Justice Centre where his family - including his wife Tracy who also worked at Avon Valley as a cleaner heard his cause of death given as suicide.

A statement was read out during the inquest from a caretaker at the school, Steven Rous, who discovered Mr Moore’s body.

He was opening the school at around 5.30am on January 29 when he found the 58-year-old and police were called.

The coroner of Warwickshi­re, Sean McGovern, concluded that Mr Moore, who lived in Rugby, had taken his own life.

Mr McGovern described his death as “a shocking thing” for Mr Moore’s family and offered them his condolence­s.

Speaking afterwards, a member of Mr Moore’s family said: “He was much loved by all.”

The headteache­r of Avon Valley School, Alison Davies, posted a message on the school website on January 29 saying: “This is a huge shock for our entire school community and our thoughts and prayers go to our colleagues, family and friends at this very sad time.
