Cov is so proud of The Specials

-

THE Specials brand new album ‘Encore’ gets a big thumbs up from me and it is one of the best albums I’ve heard in a long time.

There are some cracking tracks on there and my personal favourite is Blam Blam Fever. It is truly an album for our times.

Take a bow Terry Hall, Lynval Golding and Horace Panter and congratulations on your first ever UK number one album.

Coventry is proud of you and rightly so.

We’ve had enough of politicians

I HAVE only one problem with Kevin Cryan’s letter (Feb 13) re democracy and the distorted view we have of it.

The blame for the rise in populism lies fairly and squarely at the door of the politicians that are supposed to ‘know best’.

For example they crow about successes on the battlefield against Islamic fundamentalist groups but that is not where these groups look to win.

The more refugees they create is part of their long-term strategy to see the Islamification of the continent, as observed by Vladimir Putin.

Then there is the growing feeling that these politicians elected by the people are actually under the thumb of big business.

It seems these politicians that ‘know best’ will allow the rape and destruction of the planet’s ecosystem if it drives the precious economy.

Now they spend vast amounts of our money exploring space for somewhere else for Man to destroy.

The people have had quite enough of ‘know best’ politicians and the lack of proper leadership. Richard Allen Whoberley
