TEEN IS CHARGED WITH MURDER
A TEENAGER has appeared in court over a fatal stabbing in Coventry earlier this month.
Officers and paramedics were called to Albany House in Brunswick Road, Earlsdon, at around 2.30am on Sunday, 10 February, following reports a man had been stabbed.
Patrick Hill, 23, was found with knife wounds and taken to hospital - but died three days later on February 13.
A post-mortem revealed he died of stab wounds.
West Midlands Police has only just revealed details of the incident. Levi Whitmore Wills, 18, was initially charged with wounding, but has been charged with murder.
He appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court yesterday. The case has been committed to Warwick Crown Court. Whitmore-Wills will next appear in court on Thursday February 21. He has been remanded in custody.
West Midlands Police Det Insp Hannah Whitehouse, from the Homicide Unit, said: “This was initially treated as a serious stabbing but we’re clearly now looking at a murder enquiry after the victim succumbed to his injuries.
“We understand a disturbance took place at Albany House - a multi-occupancy property - in Brunswick Road between 2am and 2.30am.
“I’d appeal for anyone who heard a disorder or saw anyone acting suspiciously to call us as they may have important information.”
