DUMPED IN THE STREET

FLYTIPPERS STRIKE IN COVENTRY AGAIN

- By LAURA HARTLEY News Reporter laura.hartley@reachplc.com

A STREET in Coventry has once again been laden with rubbish in the alleyways and gardens.

Bolingbroke Road in Stoke has been subject to several incidents involving rubbish dumping in the area.

In the latest fly-tipping incident, a shopping trolley, what looks to be goal posts, drawers and a cooker are all dumped in alleyways.

One of the pictures even shows what looks to be a garden that has turned into a dumping ground.

A man whose mother lives on the street said the problem just goes in cycles.

Glenn Hartwell said the council needs to be taking robust action.

He said: “It goes in cycles. It gets cleaned up and then give a couple of days to a week then it’s back to square one.

“To be honest I’m fed up of the whole process.

“It seems to be a neverending story. The council should be taking robust action.”

Anyone going down the side of a house on the road wouldn’t be able to see a few metres in front of them due to the sheer amount of rubbish piled high.

This time last year in February 2018 , shopping trollies and mattresses blocked an alleyway which was already lined with bushes and overgrown shubbery.

And, again in June 2018, stinking rubbish accumulated from the bus stop for the 16a service to Binley, to the top of Bolingbroke Road.

Last month, we revealed the worst areas for fly-tipping.
