FAMILY TRIBUTE TO DAD FOUND DEAD IN FLAT

THE man whose body was found at a flat in Spon End at the weekend has been described as a “loving father, son, brother and partner”.

Daniel Chappell, 26, was discovered with fatal injuries at a property in Gardner House, Vincent Street, in the early hours of Sunday, March 11.

A murder investigat­ion was launched and a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of Daniel’s murder.

He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries and police say the investigat­ion “continues at pace”.

Daniel’s family has released a statement, through West Midlands Police, which reads: “Daniel was a loving father, son, brother and partner.

“He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.”

Detective Inspector Nick Barnes, from the force’s homicide team, said: “Our investigat­ion continues at pace as we try to establish exactly what happened to Mr Chappell.

“Our thoughts remain with his family and friends who are being supported by specially trained officers at this extremely difficult time.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have any informatio­n which can assist our investigat­ion to get in touch.”
