WHY NOT LET YOUR ARTISTIC SIDE BLOSSOM?

-

PUT a plastic bottle to good use before you recycle it with this pretty blossom picture.

This easy technique is ideal for printing wrapping paper for Mother’s Day too.

YOU WILL NEED: A sheet of coloured paper (A3 size or larger).

Make sure your blossom prints show up by choosing a fairly dark colour.

A plastic bottle with a bumpy bottom(!) Paint (red and white) – acrylic works well as it is thick

A brown marker or felt pen Paintbrush Containers to mix paint in METHOD:

1. Wash and thoroughly dry the outside of your bottle.

2. Place your coloured paper on a flat, level surface.

3. Use the marker or felt pen to draw some branches. Make sure that there’s a good mixture of thick and thin to make it look realistic.

4. Mix the paint to make your desired colour. We chose cherry-blossom pink.

5. Use a brush to paint each nobble on the bottom of your bottle with a thick layer of paint (see picture).

6. Decide which branch you would like to place a flower on, then press your bottle firmly onto the paper.

7. After each print, be sure to repaint the bottle bottom before printing again. This will give you nice even blossom. Leave to dry when finished.
