Boro teen is the centre of attention
NUNEATON Borough forward Taylor Allen is on course to make a move into the Football League.
The 18-year-old was recently on trial at Premier League club Leicester City and is currently spending a week with Blackburn Rovers of the Championship.
Doncaster Rovers and Forest Green Rovers of League’s One and Two respectively are also thought to hold interest in the youngster.
Allen joined the ‘Boro in January after a successful trial match in which he struck a hat-trick.
Despite not yet scoring competitively for the National League North side, he has, in his seven appearances, impressed many since joining the club, including ‘Boro boss Jimmy Ginnelly.
Ginnelly, who along with his managerial position is also the club’s current ‘acting chairman’, said: “Taylor has done very well since signing for us and has a good attitude to learn.
“He has all the attributes required to progress into the Football League.”
The Nuneaton front-man was last month on trial at Leicester and started in their Under-23s’ Premier League 2 meeting with Tottenham Hotspur.
He is now in the process of a week with Blackburn but has many other Football League sides looking at the possibility of gaining his services, with scouts from numerous clubs casting their eye over his performances.
Should any move materialise, the Boro are unlikely to receive any fee due Allen not holding a contract with the club.
It is however possible for any club which does eventually sign him to grant Nuneaton a ‘token’ fee, if they would like to do so.
