ASTON Villa loan star Callum O’Hare could get his first League One start for Coventry City this afternoon.

The 21-year-old has stepped off the bench and scored in his last two league games for the Sky Blues, pushing the exciting playmaker to the “forefront” of manager Mark Robins ’s thinking.

His late strike against Blackpool gave City a 3-2 victory at St Andrew’s, having given his side a 3-2 lead at Oxford the weekend before, only for a Fankaty Dabo own goal to deny him glory at the death.

Asked if he’s tempted to throw in O’Hare from the start for today’s trip to tenth-placed Burton Albion, the City boss said: “I think that there are a number of players that are pushing and Callum is one of them.

“He’s been outstanding and he’s been really good in training this week as well, so he’s certainly one at the forefront of my mind.

“There’s a few knocking on the door, actually banging on the door, so that’s good.

“The other players have been pretty good too, so it’s a great problem to have at the minute so we’ll see what the game brings.”

Max Biamou is another who can’t escape the manager’s attention after hitting his fourth goal in

four games for the Under-23s on Monday.

So far the Frenchman has been third in the pecking order behind in-form Matty Godden and Amadou Bakayoko, who has been Robins’s preferred back-up striker on the bench.

“That’s all Max can do, keep going and wait for a chance,” he said. “I went to the game the other day and he was good, scored a really good goal. It’s a goal you’d associate with Max, with power and he smashed it in.”

Robins has also been impressed with Biamou’s professionalism.

“He’s had a great attitude, it’s outstanding, and the encouragement he has given to others has been something else,” said the manager.

“When he first came in he was fairly quiet and trying to understand the levels, coming over from France. It’s the same as Gervane Kastaneer and Wes Jobello who have come over from another country to a different culture and way of playing. The fact that they have done it shows a lot about their characters.”
