It’s Henman thrill at Wimbledon for some lucky fans

-

TWO lucky tennis fans received the surprise of their life after being put through their paces by Wimbledon legend Tim Henman in a coaching session at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

James Pearton and Lee McNeill were among 24 budding players who took part in the Jaguar Tennis Masterclass after winning the ‘Ultimate ALETC Experience’ through the Ace Pace Wimbledon Edition app. Henman was joined by 2016 finalist Milos Raonic and rising star Katie Boulter as they gave the winners the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity thanks to Wimbledon’s official vehicle partner, Jaguar.

Pearton admitted he loved the experience.

“It’s been absolutely amazing,” said the 45-year-old from Warwickshire. “I was already excited about coming to Wimbledon and having the opportunity just to hits some tennis balls. Then with the surprise of Milos Raonic, Tim Henman and Katie Boulter was incredible. I picked up some really good tips from them as the sessions were really informative and technical. It was just interesting how they can just point you in the right direction and I could see a difference straight away.”

McNeill, from Nuneaton, also relished getting to see Wimbledon first hand.

“It was a really good experience,” said the 37-year-old. “I don’t actually play that much tennis but I love most sports so it was good to try it out and to visit Wimbledon. It’s such a famous place and I had never been before so I was delighted when I found out I had won and it’s been great to come here and see behind the scenes.”
