COVENTRY’S famous Belgrade Theatre is set to welcome a new event later this year - introducing a series of immersive theatrical club nights.

Over the festive period, the theatre’s B2 auditorium is set to be transformed into Club 2B - a nightclub style setting.

Between December 11 and New Year’s Eve, there are set to be 13 performances, complete with live music, dancing and theatre.

Those in attendance will be seated around cabaret style tables though the freedom to get up and explore the room is encouraged, with the performance taking place all around the venue.

Each ticket comes complete with a welcome drink and snack plate.

According to the organisers, the evening will see a story play out, with figures such as the Greek God Zeus, Lady Godiva and Gatsby playing a role.

Show creator Corey Campbell, artistic director of Strictly Arts Theatre Company said: “This isn’t your traditional theatre experience. We are talking about a full immersive experience where we’re going to be interacting with the audience, it’s very interactive.

“There’s going to be food, drink, there’s going to be a bar that’s part of the live action, there’s live music so there’s going to be singing and dancing.”

The Belgrade’s website describes the event as “mixing the feel of a 1930s Berlin Cabaret club, a Secret Cinema event and an underground prohibition-era night club, this exclusive event is for anyone with a thirst for life, an open mind and a sense of adventure.”

Club B2 comes during a busy time for the theatre.

Following massive renovation works, the Belgrade also welcomes Coventry’s pantomime to its stage - with a production of Puss in Boots .

Tickets for Club B2 are on sale now, with tickets costing £33.50 (the New Year’s Eve showing is £43.50).

The tickets, along with everything that you need to know can be found on the Belgrade Theatre website .
