No-one has answer to Brexit madness

-

HOW can anyone have faith in a government that’s preparing this country to leave the EU after nearly three years of “planning” by putting full-page information adverts in newspapers?

My daily paper advert said to prepare four months before taking a pet to the EU while my local papers ad was telling businesses to “get ready for Brexit “when no-one seems to have any clear idea what we are getting ready for.

Can no-one just explain in language we can understand what Boris Johnson’s deal contains that will, as he claims, make our “country great again”.

I’ve given up trying to unravel the almost daily changes in policies that will dictate our future so I’ve decided to lock myself in a darkened room until all the madness is over—goodnight all.

LIKE many previous readers letters Andy Mcdonald (letters 23/10) suggests we should get serious about house building.

Just like previous letters on the subject he does not mention where all these new houses should be built.

In this overcrowded country finding suitable plots to build houses has become increasingly difficult. In the past houses have been built on flood plains and have then ended up flooded during periods of heavy rain.

To go someway to improving the housing situation we should first of all make better use of our current housing stock.

Too many houses are still left empty while we need more suitable accommodation for an increasing elderly population. Building purpose built accommodation for students should also free up more homes for families. We really cannot afford to lose more and more green belt land for houses.
