‘Max and Baka will strike up a hit double act’

-

COVENTRY City defender Michael Rose has complete faith in Amadou Bakayoko and Max Biamou forming a goalscoring partnership for the Sky Blues.

The 24-year-old, who began his career in Scotland with Aberdeen, has played against the pair more than anybody else, lining up against them on the training field at Ryton.

And he believes that together, with the work that their once freescoring manager Mark Robins is doing with them, they can form one of the divisions mostfeared striker partnerships.

“I think when Max turns up he is unbelievable,” Rose told the Telegraph. “He’s got everything that you do not want to have to defend against, to be honest. He is quick, strong and a very good finisher.

“I think it has been really hard for him lately because of his injury.

“I have been on the receiving end of [Biamou and Amadou Bakayoko] and they will cause problems, definitely.

“The gaffer has touched on them staying close together.

“B4ut at the moment, [with his injury], in training sessions Max is only just seeing how his knee reacts to things to certain things, but when we get him firing he will be very good for us.”

The Sky Blues’ win over Fleetwood Town last week relied on a halftime shake-up to capture all three points.

Robins switched his system to a three at the back, allowing the fullbacks to roam and to offer Bakayoko support in attack.

“When I made my debut in Scotland I got put into a three-man defence and I did not do well,” he admitted.

“So that was in the back of my mind when we switched, and I was thinking: ‘Oh no!’

“But I think it suits us and we’re all enjoying it.”
