X Factor winner sings for terminally ill little boy

THIS is the incredible moment that X Factor winner Sam Bailey sang for a dying Nuneaton boy.

Little Bailey is terminally ill and his determined mother sent out a heart-wrenching appeal for anyone who could come and sing or play for her music-loving son.

And that appeal from Charlotte Nixon was met in the most incredible way being shared all across the country, and led to Sam Bailey answering the call.

The singer, who claimed the X Factor crown in 2013, visited the family home in Nuneaton on Thursday (November 14) to sing to the eight-yearold who she describes as a “brave little soldier”.

Charlotte, 34, posted the picture right of Sam smiling while singing to young Bailey, who was born with a life-limiting brain condition which has led to Epilepsy, severe gut issues, dystonia and global developmental delay.

Sam Bailey herself posted on Twitter afterwards saying:

“I’ve just been to see bailey and his wonderful family!!! What a brave little soldier he is and his family... wow!!! So much love in the room.

“I was told of many happy memories and stories!!! I’ve no words to how I feel when leaving .... only that I feel blessed to have met them x.”

Sam Bailey, who lives in nearby Leicestershire, immediately responded to the appeal and just knew she had to do something to help out the Nixon family. Speaking to the Telegraph before she visited Bailey, Sam said: “I kept getting tagged in the article. The minute I read it, I knew I had to do something to help, just looking at the picture in the article, it is heartbreaking.”

It is not the first time the singer has helped a Nuneaton family - she also invited Jack Oldacres, who suffers from a rare and painful skin condition, on stage at one of her gigs and also took part in fundraising events for him.

The appeal for musicians for Bailey has been shared hundreds of times on social media. Offers of help have flooded in and Charlotte has revealed on Facebook that “the response for music therapy for Bailey has been incredible!! We are now expecting people everyday for the next two weeks”.

It was a heartbreaking appeal that led to the huge response. “Bailey has always loved music and responded so well to it, he had the most infectious laugh when hearing music and his right leg would always bounce to the beat,” the mum-of-two said.

“Bailey now cannot be moved out of the house due to his deterioration so he would need ‘music therapy’ at home. He loves the sound of a guitar and some gentle singing.

“He has his own team of very experienced professionals who are now all on standby any day for him to gain his angels wings. As a mum I am completely helpless and there is nothing more I can do for him however, knowing how much he loves music this is the last thing I can do for him.”

’The former Higham Lane school pupil added: “Bailey is my life, my world and my heart is breaking so bad right now but I have one last fight to make sure my boy leaves this earth with a smile on his face.”
