Worst rat runs in Cov ...according to you

- By RACHEL STRETTON News Reporter rachel.stretton@reachplc.com

WE all know the feeling - you just want to get home from work and all the main routes are gridlocked.

Driving through Coventry can at times, make you feel as though the whole world is against you, and those who know the city like the back of their hand (or have a handy Sat Nav) often take a shortcut through smaller roads to get to their destination.

But it can cause endless frustration to people who live on or near these smaller roads to have so many motorists driving down them.

We put the question to our readers: Where are the worst rat runs in Coventry?

And you didn’t hold back, with plenty of suggestions. Here’s what you said...

Arbury Avenue: This is a handy cut through if you’re trying to get between Foleshill Road and Lythalls Lane - but definitely a source of frustration.

Cannon Hill Road: People use it to cut through to Kenilworth Road so they can cut out the A45 and miss the heavy traffic. But one reader said that motorists drive too fast down this road.

Rotheram Road and Roland Avenue both have speed bumps making Parkgate Road an attractive alternative.

Gulson Road: This route enables drivers to cut past Sky Blue Way to get from the A444 onto the southbound A46. One driver said this is a handy route - because otherwise she has to go all the way down to the airport island and onto the A45 before getting on the A46.

Erithway Road: One reader said he’s seen cars driving at over 50mph here - even though it’s a 20mph zone.

Treherne Road: This was another road where readers have spotted motorists driving too fast.

Robin Hood Road: While some readers wanted to see more speed bumps, others complained about existing ones. One driver felt that the speed bumps ruin your car.
