CHESTER will be transformed into a gingerbread city this Christmas.
Sculptures of city landmarks will be among eye-catching sights constructed from this favourite seasonal biscuit by local businesses. And shops will compete for the best gingerbread window display.
Fifty fir trees with gingerbread decorations will go on display in Chester Cathedral from November 30 (chestercathedral. com).
A giant chain of gingerbread figures created by children will be hung across the city and a Gingerbread Village (November 16 - December 22) will provide an inspiring space for children to join in storytelling and craft sessions, with money raised donated to charity.
