No tantrums or tiaras

-

HE’S still standing, after all this time. Although actually he’s sitting down here, in one of his posh parlours at his house in the South of France, to which he’s invited Graham Norton for a chat about his pretty remarkable life.

Sir Elton John, the Rocketman himself, has decided to open his doors and spill the beans in this exclusive film.

Although, given that this year has seen a smash hit movie biopic and an autobiography, there surely can’t be many left to spill. But it’s still always entertaining to hear these amazing stories from the horse’s mouth.

If you saw the previous behind the scenes documentary Tantrums and Tiaras, you might be expecting a fierce temper and expletive-ridden rants.

But the truth is, at 72 and a father of two, Elton has definitely mellowed. These days he’s warm and self-effacing, still brutally honest – often at his own expense – and very funny, with incredible tales of a life lived in the spotlight for 50 years.

Elton talks candidly with Graham about his battles with addiction and mental health issues, as well as his recent fight against prostate cancer.

They look back over his most iconic performances, including some exclusive unseen footage, and he relives his childhood in Pinner as plain old Reg Dwight, followed by his rise to global super stardom.

And as well as looking over his past, Elton talks about what kind of future he sees for himself, both on and off the stage.
