NEW information and searches are expected to be revealed in the new year into the disappearance of Nicola Payne.

In a new crime programme, filming will start in January on a realtime investigation into the unsolved murder of Nicola.

It’s been revealed that for over six months, files and evidence relating to her murder have been reviewed.

Lead investigator Mark Williams Thomas said the access and research means they will be able to reveal new information and evidence for the first time that has never been in the public domain.

Nicola vanished in December 1991 as she walked home from her boyfriend’s house across a patch of land known as the Black Pad.

The teenager - who had a six-month-old baby boy at the time was never seen again and despite a huge police investigation and numerous searches across the city, her family have never been able to lay her to rest.

As part of the filming for the series, a podcast will also be recorded in January, as well as undertaking detailed interviews withNicola’s family, friends and witnesses, as well as following up on lines of inquiry and new leads.

It’s believed that clues to solving the case remain in the community and a number of people could still hold vital evidence.

Mark WilliamsThomas said: “This is very much a real time live investigation, and as such we will be making our presence very high profile. We want people to know what we are doing, because we believe the clues to solving this case still remain in the community.

“We still need information and know that a number of people still hold vitalevidence.

“We anticipate that further searches will be undertaken and continue to work with Peter Faulding from Specialist Group International, who are renowned experts in both land and water searches. We worked with them previously in a very detailed search of Coombe Lake and as a result Peter and his team have become friends of the Payne family.

Mark added: “A 100k reward remains in place for information solely leading to the discovery of Nicola’s body. This is not dependent on anarrest or conviction and will be done anonymously. Once we have found Nicola, the reward will be paid with no questions asked.

“This is an unprecedented move and we hope that it will be enough toe ncouragesomeone to give us that vital piece of information that will allow us to finally give Nicola back to her family.
