PRICE OF HOLIDAY ESSENTIALS FALLS
BRIGHTER times are forecast for holidaymakers, with prices falling in more than three-quarters of resorts and cities worldwide, according to a new report.
Research for the Worldwide Holiday Costs Barometer from Post Office Travel Money, reveals that the cost of eight tourist staples – a three-course evening meal for two with wine, a bottle of beer, a glass of wine, a can of Coca-Cola, a large bottle of water, a cup of coffee, suncream and insect repellent – has fallen in 33 of the 42 destinations surveyed.
The biggest price fall of has been in Antigua, where the cost of these items fell by 44% (£70.51). In Europe the biggest fall is in Corfu (£75.91).
Topping the chart, at just £30.68 for the eight items, Sunny Beach in Bulgaria has shown unbeatable value in Europe in recent years and is cheapest worldwide.
