VENOM: THE END #1

AS we speak, the sequel to 2018’s Venom is shooting.

Tom Hardy reprises his role as Eddie Brock, the journalist who finds himself playing host to the symbiote Venom.

It has a tentative release for October this year – but there’s a new comic adventure starting to tide fans over till then.

The End, as it suggests is the final Venom story – and it spans, literally, a trillion years.

From its first bonding with Eddie, the symbiote fell in love with humans and went on to bond with thousands.

This love for (bio)life leads Venom to the last defender of life in the universe – but will it end well for all concerned?

Venom: The End is out now, priced £4.50.

UNCHARTED TERRITORY

STICKING with Venom

... it seems Sony is courting its director

Ruben Fleischer to helm its languishing Uncharted movie.

The studio has been trying to transfer the game franchise to the big screen for years now – hiring director after director, only for them to walk away.

The last big name to leave was Travis Knight – the man behind Bumblebee –who quit the project just weeks ago.

Now Fleischer is in Sony’s sights, fresh from directing Zombieland: Double Tap. If he accepts, it may still be 2022 before a Nathan Drake adventure hits cinemas.

NO END TO THE HORROR

AMERICAN Horror Story has been renewed for three more series – and I don’t know how to feel about that.

What started as compelling viewing has suffered from a lack of quality in recent years.

The horror anthology’s latest series, AHS: 1984 ended in November – and while it started off strong, I felt it ended with a whimper.

Now the studio behind the show, FX, has commissioned a further three series – and with an average of 10 million viewers per episode, even they may not be the end.
